Effective Wednesday, May 14, 2025, the Trump administration began enforcing 30% or higher tariffs on all goods made in China.
They also ended de minimis exemptions, which previously allowed packages valued under $800 USD to enter the country duty-free.
Trump also implemented tariffs on textiles in 2018, and they are stacked, which means most of the Chinese-made soft goods on our site have an effective tariff rate of 35 to 40%.
If you purchase a product on our site listed as "Made in China" and live in the United States, you will be pre-paying for duties at checkout.
As of June 23, 2025, we have begun collecting pre-paid duties (DDP) on all U.S. orders. This ensures reliable delivery and smooth clearance at customs. You will not incur any additional fees or duties upon delivery.
Please allow 5-11 business days for shipping, as there are unpredictable and random delays at the border.
We are unable to offer duties unpaid (DDU) shipping at this time. U.S. Customs and Border Patrol are arbitrarily rejecting DDU packages rather than properly processing and assigning tariffs, and returning them to sender.
What are these tariffs?
We do not make any money from collecting tariffs. We collect the money from you and pay the duties on your behalf when we purchase the postage. Every cent goes to the U.S. government.
These tariffs place the burden on the customer to pay these duties whether that comes in the form of extra fees or increased prices, despite White House claims.
These new rules do not just target Chinese retailers, but also small businesses in the U.S. or anywhere else that source or manufacture products or components from China. The tariffs are applied on products based on country of origin, not where it ships from (in our case, Toronto, Canada).
We have researched manufacturing in Canada, the U.S. and beyond, and we work directly with our partners to produce some of the best custom hats anywhere, sewn by some of the most skilled workers on the planet. The truth is, domestic manufacturing is not always technically capable of producing the embroidery and sewing required, and would result in a hat that would cost over $100.
Our goal has always been to provide creative, original and affordable goods for everyone. For over 10 years, our American customers have been an integral and important part of our success, and we are grateful for that.
If you do not agree with what’s happening, and you recognize how this hurts consumers and also small businesses in the U.S. and beyond, please contact your elected representatives (this handy website lets you search your address to find and contact them).
We are working on a solution, but the situation is changing by the day. This is the latest information that we have. We apologize, nobody wants this.
